Time-to-detection occupancy models
In this seminar, Dominic Henry, presents on a popular topic here at SEEC - occupancy models - but with a slight variation, i.e. using time to detection rather detection/non-detection data.
Up until now, the occupancy models we have presented rely on detection/non‐detection (DND) of a species and these typically rely on either spatial or temporal survey replication to estimate model parameters. In this seminar, Dominic explains how recording the time until a species is first encountered after starting a survey (time‐to‐detection surveys; TTD) can be used to fit occupancy models using a single TTD survey.
